PyAcceleREMOTER gaining popularity

I am happy to see that since I released a beta version of PyAcceleREMOTER five days ago, it has been gaining popularity day by day. Googling the name, reveals an increasing number of blogs/forums/sites which have posted information about it, with some of them also including the instructions that I have provided in the released archive. Of course I don’t have a registered account on all those forums so I can’t always see the comments (i.e the impressions ) of the users, but from quite a few blogs and forums which I have read I can see that the impressions are extremely good and encouraging. I don’t have a clear idea of how many copies of PyAcceleREMOTER have been downloaded because besides the Sourceforge page, a lot of people have posted download links on forums and blogs which I can’t track. That’s not a problem though. As long as people like it and download it, I don’t care where they do so from.

I have seen that a lot of people are wondering whether this application will be ported to windows which is (unfortunately) used by a lot of people. I must clarify that I currently have no intention of porting PyAcceleREMOTER to windows. Even when the applications gets a stable release, I don’t intend to bother with a windows port for quite some time. There are two options then for windows user to get access to the application. Either some other developer has to devote his/her time and energy to port it to windows, or some of those windows users who have been thinking of trying out gnu/linux, now have an extra motive of actually doing the jump to the free world.
